Heidi in Mondo!
Mondo from Project Runway, in my opinion should have won last season but that's not the point of this post.....................you remember the black and white polk-a-dot dress that Heidi and Jessica Simpson loved but Micheal Kors and Nina were not fans of....right???? Well, leave it to Heidi to prove her point of how she can rock a look..............she wore it! Now it's modified so he must have listened to Kors when he suggested to show more skin...check out the picture...........what do you think? I love you',Mondo but I would have made it into a mini and left the sleeves.............

Timeless
Trends fade but style remains the same.......that saying is soooo true. You know something is timeless when you think to yourself, "I would still wear that" or "that look is still relavent today" Well, I do a lot of looking at old images (1960's - 70's) on the web to get inspired and I want to share some of my favorites with you.

Dior ad Campaign stirs up controversy..........again!
Christian Dior, House of Dior, photos taken by Quentin Shih- Shanghai Dreamers series
These images are just a few in a series of controversial images from Dior's new ad campaign launching the fashion houses'opening in Shanghai, China. The photographer is Quentin Shih and this is not the first time he's worked for Dior or stirred up controversy. In 2008, Shih snapped a series called The Glass Box. I recently read an interesting article on lemondrop.com that speaks to the controversy that Shih's photos can be considered racist and derogatory towards Chinese culture. If you look closely, you'll see that all of the models look the same expect the Caucasian model. Shih used the same model and simply duplicated the image. This plays on the stereotype of all Asians looking alike however, that was not Shih's intent. According to Shih, this was his intention to create a feeling of uniqueness; an individualistic take relating to Dior's clothing style. In the end you can't deny the press and exposure that this is getting....................it all equals dollar signs. What do you think?

Hosiery for fall and winter
It's getting colder outside and you know what that means...........dust off your tights, leggings, and socks 'cause it's gonna be a long winter! I have to say that I used to hate putting on panty hose in the morning.......too much effort and I always felt too "working girl".......I really never knew that hosiery is an accessory and should be treated like one. Hosiery can really make an outfit.......style-wise. With all of the high boots, booties and riding boots that are hot right now, its essential to know how to work them with hosiery. Hosiery includes but not limited to tights (sheer, opaque, knit, patterned), socks (knee-high, ankle), leg warmers (all lengths), and over-the-knee thigh high stockings. There are so many places to buy from but I would suggest spending some money on your tights and hose. There are many benefits to buying good quality hose.......they hold up better and keep their shape, they don't "run" or cut holes, and many offer extra shape support and control. Here are some suggested style options to consider:
Stephane Rolland Tights. Notice the models tights match her shoes........This is a good rule to follow because it gives the illusion of longer-leaner legs when styled this way.

ebay.com NEW OROBLU CELINE FLORAL PATTERNED TIGHTS - Patterned Tights can be tricky but worn correctly they look great! First have some confidence........next remember that they really draw attention to your legs! In order to avoid looking like a mess, I would suggest keeping it simple on top....and don't try to compete with the tights..........blend them.............I promise that you will end up with a more classy and polished look! Oh same rule applies to just colored hose.
Play with the length of your socks...........shorter to minimize a larger thigh and longer if you want to show off your thighs. Try wearing them under your boots.
Plus size designers to show at Fashion Week!

Riding Boots
So I just got back from a friends house and our conversation prompted me to write this blog. Her birthday is coming up and asked me what she should buy and I blurted out "riding boots"!!! She agreed and the conversation went on for a while about what to wear and how to style them. Below are some of my thoughts and suggestions on how to wear riding boots.
First of all, splurge on a pair......I promise you they are a classic and will not go out of style! Make sure they are of quality and comfortable. Mine are dark brown leather but they're available in all shades of brown and black and even mixed. What I like about riding boots is that they are very versatile; perfect for a night out to running errands on the weekends. Wear them with leggings, skinny jeans, shirts, dresses, and even winter shorts. I love them when worn with high knee socks. Below are some great finds.

military jackets for fall and beyond
Let's start with the military jacket above. This style is currently sold everywhere. What I like about this style of military wear is that it's relaxed, casual, and has a very classic feel. I also love that it has a draw string to define a waist. The sleeves can be rolled up or left down depending on the outfit. I see this type of jacket as a blank canvas because you can dress it up or down to give it your own personality. How cute would it be to pin some vintage broaches to this jacket to soften up the look and to bring in a more lady-like feel? I think, with a military jacket, in order to take the manly/army edge out of it, you must try to soften the look with something feminine. I love contrast in outfits............something heavy with something soft, something really girly with something really masculine, something romantic with something edgy, something bulky with something fitted....you get the idea. Wear this jacket with a flowy skirt, tights, and maryjanes, or even thrown over a simple wrap dress and heels. When in doubt.... throw a belt over it! Don't forget to add a little sparkle with your accessories.
This style has a very different feel from the 1st look....a little more "uniform". You can think of this style of military as being more like a blazer. This would look great worn over a flowy tank (sequence would be hot), a fitted shirt, or t-shirt. I would pair with a great pair of skinny jeans, leggings or even trouser style pants. Be sure to add some shine and texture with your accessories because this is a more uniform/masculine style (plus you don't want to look to Sgt. peppers lonely hearts club bandish) Love this jacket.....it's very trendy and "now" so make it your own and keep it feminine!
I mean...........come on.................I love you..............This may not be for everyone (Just me!!!) Give me faux fur with a hint of military and I am on board!!!! Ladies if your into this jacket then you know what to do!

LOVE LOVE LOVE....WANT WANT WANT!!!
Tommy Hilfiger Bennington Duck Boots walked the 2010 fall/winter runway and I love them!!!! I have to say that I owned a pair of Sporto duck boots when I was a kid. I believe that mine were green, but these are not your typical "old school" ducks.......these are vamped up-Preppy-hot-collegiate-Massachusetts-Hunter!!!!! I mean 5" HEELS with RUBBER.........CRAZY AND BRILLIANT!!!!!! Gosh I can't wait for fall.......oh and please rain!!!! I can see myself wearing these Ducks with skirts, sweats, jeans, and shorts......style with anything.....What could be more unexpected then to pair these Ducks with something more formal like a fancy skirt or sheath dress???..Now, I realize that not everyone will be embracing this style but if you do then check out some of these options...........a lower heel may be more wearable.
